The view reflected in the window is like a framed picture, or a drawing scene on a folding screen.
Japanese saying “Mitate” the representation of an object by comparing it to another is a way of thinking that has been in vogue since the ancient ages.
In Kabuki play, they used to create a special object that makes the audience to imagine a well-known form behind it. It may be similar to symbolism. Like sorting through miscellaneous information and squeezing out the essence of it, we extract the essence of it by way of comparison.

La vista riflessa nella finestra è come un’immagine incorniciata o una scena disegnata su uno schermo pieghevole. Dire in giapponese “Mitate”, cioè la rappresentazione di un oggetto confrontandolo con un altro, è un modo di pensare in voga fin dai tempi antichi. Nella commedia Kabuki, creavano un oggetto speciale che induceva il pubblico a immaginare una forma ben precisa dietro di esso. Potrebbe essere simile al simbolismo. Come raccogliere informazioni varie e spremerle l’essenza di esse, per estrarne l’essenza a titolo di confronto.
